With the Smart Police app (Android), one can now conveniently send reports of incidents of robbery, assault, rape, theft and other ugly incidences to the Nigerian Police Force (Lagos State Police Command). All reports sent in can also be monitored from the app as they are being treated. All these can be done from the comfort of one?s bedroom and without revealing one?s identity.
The Smart Police mobile app is an innovative security app which was launched by The Nigerian Police Force (Lagos State Police Command) on the 7th of January 2016 and updated on the 17th of February, 2016. It is the first of its kind in Nigeria and is also the most popular security app currently being used in Nigeria. At the moment, the Smart Police app is available for download from the Google Play store only and will be made available on the Apple store with time. Although the app is very widely unknown, it already has over ten thousand downloads.
On this page, an incident can be reported by the click of a button on the bottom right corner of the page. However, the panic button can only be taken advantage of by registered users. Also, the panic button can be used to record brief descriptions of the incident and sent by clicking police report. This is immediately sent to the police force.
